What level of Hungarian you need for citizenship
There is no language exam in the simplified procedure. The officer talks to you, and understanding and expression are both expected at an intermediate level. Here is what the official text says, and what to review.

Do I need to pass a language exam?
No language exam is required. Communication in Hungarian is expected, and the officer checks it in a conversation.
What level does the law name?
Understanding and the ability to express yourself “at intermediate level” (középszint). The official text does not name a CEFR level such as A2 or B1.
Are mistakes a problem?
Not if you speak with a dialect, not the standard language, or in “broken” Hungarian. But if the level is insufficient, a positive decision cannot be expected.
